Grilled Firecracker Shrimp

June 6, 2014 By Meredith Steele

Firecracker Shrimp - Grilled spice rubbed shrimp with a touch of brown sugar

Light the grill, summer is here! Speaking of grills, we’re living off of one at the moment. My amazing husband thought it would be a fabulous idea to buy a top of the line fancy washer and dryer that was on sale when our dryer died last week. This would be a fabulous and thoughtful gift but the amazing wonderful husband didn’t bother to measure to see if they would fit in our 1950’s house. Because who needs measurements, right? Now we have a massive washer and dryer that doesn’t even come close to fitting in the washer closet in the kitchen and I can’t return it because it was on sale. So, guess who’s giving up their pantry and building a new one in the nonexistent space in her kitchen that she uses every day for the money that bought the stupid-dang-flipping-astronaut training required washer and dryer!

For the time being, it’s me and the grill and have I’ve got a grilling recipe for you. Fire up the grill because these Firecracker Shrimp are a show stopper! A spicy Texas chili rub with a delightful touch of brown sugar makes these Texas Gulf Coast grilled shrimp the perfect summer meal.

We’ve grilled this recipe for years and I’ve always blended the spice rub by just “eyeing” it. Now, I’ve finally written the recipe up and you can find it on ImperialSugar.com. Grab it here: Firecracker Shrimp

Cheers and wish me luck that nothing else goes wrong with this new kitchen adventure!
