Sweet mother of it all, this is one of those breakfast recipes that are so indulgent it leaves you with a smile on your face for the rest of the day. You might not eat much later but needless to say you’ll start the day happy.
Crisp salty bacon, cheddar cheese, and sweet apples is one of those classic combinations that wins over all taste buds. When wrapped together in a waffle the flavors are just plain incredible. You just have to trust me on this one – savory bacon cheddar waffles topped with a sweet bourbon laced caramelized apple syrup is the waffle recipe to end all waffle recipes!

Mixed Conference 2013
Speaking of Imperial Sugar, I recently went to MixedCon on behalf of Imperial Sugar and Dixie Crystals. Nestled in the gorgeous mountains of Virginia, MixedCon is a food conference tailored for food bloggers. It’s a small conference held at Mountain Lake Resort – the same on that the movie, Dirty Dancing, was filmed! Yes, before you ask, I did keep saying, “Nobody puts Baby in the corner” every five minutes.
Dixie Crystals was a sponsor of the conference and I got to go and help throw a fabulous, if I do say so myself, party during the conference. At the party we sipped on wine, nibbled on delicious treats, and made sugar scrubs! What else do you expect at a sugar party? One of my favorite handmade scrubs was this Chocolate Sugar Lip Scrub. They make great holiday gifts, by the way.
I have to say, if you’re a food blogger and would like to attend a conference, MixedCon is a great option. It’s small so there are more opportunities to up close and personal with experts, sponsors, and other bloggers.
